Deborah Freeman, Treasurer of IAAP's LA Metropolis Chapter, has worked in the administrative profession for over 27 years. The span of Freeman's career started with Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) transferring to SoCalGas' Corporate company, Sempra Energy, where she worked for four years, and currently employed by San Diego Gas and Electric, part of the Sempra Energy Utilities' companies. Her tenure includes working in various areas in the company from Gas Supply, Transmission, Engineering, Executive relief, special projects, the Information Technology Merger Team and currently is an Administrative Associate for a Director in Information Technology. She has been a member with IAAP for four years. Her second and third year she was the Chapter's Corresponding/Recording Secretary and currently is the Chapter Treasurer. Freeman was awarded the STAR Achiever award in San Diego for her participation in the Chapter. "IAAP has broadened my horizons in several areas. I have learned numerous skills and state-of-the art technology for administrative professionals that I utilize in my workplace. IAAP has also helped me in my communication skills, as I was one of three members to give a presentation to two Fortune 500 companies on the benefits of joining IAAP." Freeman holds an AA degree in Secretarial Science and would like to receive her CPS.
